China is one of the countries that has the richest higher plant species in the world, which contains about 30,000 species. The southwest of China, especially the Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, has the richest plant diversity, accounting for more than 60% plant species of China.

The scientific name for Iris is Iris, which comes from the Greek word for rainbow. It is also the name of the rainbow goddess in ancient Greek mythology. The ancient Greeks believed that the flowers of Iris were very colorful, shining in the sun like a rainbow, so named.
