D1: Arrival in Guangzhou. Meals: D

Upon your arrival at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, our team will provide a warm welcome and arrange your transfer to Hotel. After checking in, you may relax or explore the vibrant neighborhood at your leisure. In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner featuring authentic Cantonese cuisine, including White Cut Chicken , Roasted Goose, and Steamed Pearl River Fish , allowing you to savor the rich flavors of Guangdong.

Overnight: Lavande Hotel.

D2: South China National Botanical Garden. Meals: BLD

After breakfast, we will visit the South China National Botanical Garden, the only national botanical garden in southern China and one of the largest subtropical botanical gardens in the world. Here, you can explore themed gardens such as the Magnolia Garden, Bamboo Garden, and Medicinal Plant Garden. In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, renowned for its intricate Lingnan-style architecture, or stroll along Beijing Road Pedestrian Street to experience Guangzhou's blend of history and modernity.

D3: Shimentai Nature Reserve. Meals: BLD

Today’s journey takes us to Shimentai Nature Reserve in Yingde, a protected area celebrated for its diverse orchid species. You will have the opportunity to observe rare plants such as Calanthe mannii*, Diploprora championii*, Ornithochilus difformis*, and Asarum geophilum* in their natural habitat. The afternoon will be spent further exploring the reserve’s lush landscapes before returning to Yingde for an overnight stay.

Overnight: Bamu Qingchuan Yingde Hotel.

D4: Guangdong Grand Canyon Exploration. Meals: BLD

We will depart early for the breathtaking Guangdong Grand Canyon, where suspended walkways offer stunning views of the 300-meter-deep cliffs. Botanists and nature lovers will delight in spotting Begonia ruchengensis*, Actinidia chinensis*, and Begonia fimbristipula* thriving in the canyon’s unique microclimates. The evening will be spent at a cozy resort near the canyon, surrounded by serene mountain scenery.

Overnight: Guangdong Grand Canyon Ligong Orchard Resort.

D5: Xianmen Qixia Scenic Area. Meals: BLD

The karst landscapes of Xianmen Qixia provide a dramatic backdrop for today’s botanical discoveries. Keep an eye out for Artocarpus hypargyreus*, Phanera championii*, Sterculia lanceolata*, Zenia insignis*, and Pterospermum heterophyllum* as we hike through the valley and along limestone formations. The area’s crystal-clear streams and towering rock pillars make for excellent photography opportunities.

Overnight: Xianmen Qixia Homestay.

D6: Tianjing Mountain Discovery. Meals: BLD

Tianjing Mountain’s rich biodiversity takes center stage today, with a focus on locating Actinidia chrysantha*, Platanthera mandarinorum*, Schnabelia nepetifolia*, and Adina rubella*. The mountain’s pristine forests and tranquil atmosphere provide the perfect setting for a day of exploration. In the evening, we will check into a comfortable hot spring hotel to unwind.

Overnight: Ligong International Hot Spring Hotel.

D7: Danxia Mountain Exploration. Meals: BLD

Danxia Mountain, famous for its striking red sandstone formations, is home to several endemic plant species. Our guided hike will highlight Firmiana danxiaensis*, Danxiaorchis singchiana*, Diospyros danxiaensis*, and Dendrobium flexicaule*, offering insights into the region’s unique flora. After a full day of discovery, we will rest at a nearby hotel.

Overnight: Vienna Hotel.

D8: Yunji Mountain Adventure. Meals: BLD

Our final botanical excursion takes us to Yunji Mountain, where we will search for Erythrodes blumei*, Coelogyne fimbriata*, and Liparis bootanensis* amidst the mountain’s dense foliage. The fresh mountain air and scenic trails make for a rewarding day of hiking before we return to Guangzhou in the afternoon.

Enjoy a leisurely morning with optional visits to Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street or Canton Tower for last-minute shopping and sightseeing. Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange your transfer to the airport, concluding your memorable botanical journey through Guangdong.

During his study at Sichuan University, he began to take lots of outdoor activities like hiking and mountain climbing and started to study knowledge about flora by himself. After graduation, he even spent more time in the wild than office exploring wildflowers in Sichuan and nearby provinces with other nature lovers and photographed about two thousand wildflower species. He even found several new distributions of some endemic species and even some new species of plants along with some other nature lovers. He loves to share his findings and stories behind the photos with other nature lovers on the internet and became a “flora idol” in southwest China. He never expected becoming famous out of this, he just enjoys sharing the beauty of those lovely flowers with others.

Ke Huang      WildFloraTour plant expert

Huang Ke, who graduated with a master's degree from Sichuan University, joined a local NGO after graduation, dedicating himself to environmental protection and biological resource surveys. Through years of study and fieldwork, he has gained a profound understanding of the diverse animals and plants in Southwest China. His work has taken him to remote forests, high-altitude meadows, and pristine river valleys, where he has documented rare species and contributed valuable ecological data.In addition to his field research, Huang Ke actively participated in the editing of several nature-related books, including the "Wild Bird Cartoon Guide" series, Between the Forest and the Sea, Picture of Giant Pandas, and Chengdu Nature Notes, which aim to enhance public awareness of biodiversity and conservation. His botanical research has also led to the discovery and publication of new plant species, such as Primula xilingensis and Primula meishanensis, enriching scientific knowledge of China’s flora. His passion for nature continues to drive his efforts in research, conservation, and education.

Bella      WildFloraTour bird and mammal expert

Bella, the director of AlpineBirding, was graduated from Sichuan Agricultural University with a Bachelor's Degree. She joined AlpineBirding in early 2016 and became the director of AlpineBirding in 2018. She was born and grown up in a Bai ethnic family in Yunnan Province which boasts of the largest number of bird species in China. Her interests toward birds started with her observation of a Long-tailed Minivet in her mom’s garden at a very young age. As she grows up, the interests and love toward birds become stronger and stronger. Because of that, she found AlpineBirding before graduation and joined the company for further learning of birds. Karen Lin is a native of Chengdu, Sichuan province. As a half Kangba Tibetan, Philip is the founder of WildfloraTour and is native of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. He has a deep love for his Kangba Tibetan heritage and the land where he was born and raised.
